LOL I've been watching since the mid 90s when both my parents and uncle bought homes here. I started investing here in 2004 so I have watched very carefully how things have developed. I have no doubt that Fenney and Southern Oaks will eventually be great places to enjoy the TV lifestyle. However, it will take several years for this to happen.

Buying something based on emotion can be risky. I sat through many timeshare presentations selling the good life, one week at a time. I rented before I bought down here too like the sales guy recommends. There is no timeshare salesman pressure down here. At least I didn't feel any. The pressure I think is what I created. That's the emotion part. If the average villager does indeed buy 3 times that says quite a bit. |

Perhaps, but the fact still remains that Brownwood has many many unoccupied vacant buildings, one restaurant that remains vacant after 2 tries and the least attended square for entertainment unless it is one of the TOP bands. And, it's been like this for the 5 years since it opened. I live near Brownwood and I had a lot of hope for it when I bought my house 4 years ago and in my opinion Brownwood has not delivered. It is a much "happier" and enjoyable experience to browse and walk around both LSL and SS. If anyone disputes this, they are kidding themselves or they like things a bit quieter with less shops to browse through.

I know indecisiveness is an old people's thing. I'm not sure about complaining.

We have lived in TV for two years and we do not own a golf cart. We love it here and partake in many activities.
When we play golf on the exec courses, we walk and carry our clubs and enjoy it very much. |

As for the summers, put the windshield down and enjoy the breeze in your face. Now, I do own a convertible also and I wouldn't drive that in the summer with the top down. Just too hot when you are sitting still at one of the numerous red lights.

Been here six years. Have owned three houses and own two now. Just my self but I would not even consider Feeney at this point. It is quite a distance from anything at this point. Perhaps in the future there will be more businesses on 41 and a bridge or tunnel over 41 but it would still be quite a haul to the golf courses. |

I cart to most CCs, but where I live now, that used to be the end of TV, then it became the middle of TV my house is still to far to drive to Lopez, and when tunnels are done to Fenney I will still drive, so not a big deal either way.
Now I just describe my house as in TV and thankful for that. |

I played a lot of nine hole golf here and part of the fun was the long golf cart ride to the courses. I think I would miss that. I don't live in Fenney, but it is really nice and has all of the attributes of other new villages in THE Villages including happy and outgoing and friendly villagers, and lovely homes and well kept green spaces. Pretty soon it will be connected to the contiguous Villages. Pretty soon it will have the commercial venues closer. Pretty soon folks who like to put down others and their choices will find another target. We are who we are. You can't put lipstick on a pig. Or gild a lily. P.S. One thing for sure it has a LOT of Churches nearby. Happy Easter, or Passover to you. You will love it here, OP.

We are kind of like that. Every time we drive to Ocala, we often come back by driving thru Pedro, even if it does take a little longer. |
