It will be a lot quieter than the villages especially in the off season. The majority of your club activities are going to be a drive away for quite some time.

Agree not for me but some will like it and if they build it they will come.

You assume that they do not already own the property up to 44, either through shills, dummy corps, or have an option to buy. The Morse's are smart, experienced and know what they are doing. I doubt their master plan was to strand 14,000 + homes out south of us. As far as the turnpike goes, they may have enough political clout to just have the county change the speed limit on that section of 468 to 30 mph and put cart lanes on either side.

you might not remember, so I will remind you...

the developers bought the land that has the bridge...at one time used for cattle crossing...that goes over the turnpike...

they bought all the land from 501 to the other side of the turnpike and then extends to 44......so never say never....its happening...

as far as 44...now thats still a mystery.....

Respectfully, you're half right.

1. They bought the land up to the east end of the bridge. They do not yet own the land up to the west end of the bridge.

2. The land they bought on the east side of the turnpike does not extend to 44. There is a large parcel that borders 44 which they do not yet own.

Of course, I think we all agree that it's just a matter of time and money before they acquired this property.

I think it's dubious that the bridge as it exists would be used for regular traffic.

As it sits (and without putting in another span), it is only wide enough for either 1 regular size vehicle one-way...or two-way golf cart traffic.

After the earlier threads made me curious, I've actually stopped and hiked the embankment to take a look. :D

Discussion has always been centered on its use as a golf cart bridge. Would the state of Florida allow that?
Picture taken last year of the bridge in question from the Cub.

The bridge that crosses the turnpike in Jimmemac's photo will be used as a bridge for golf carts to get across.

Same bridge and both taken from the Cub

I would never purchase a home in Fenney or any other location south of 44. The reason is that right now we live pretty much in the center of the Villages near Cane Garden. I play in the band that meets in Mulberry which is 8.5 miles one way from my house. If I had a house in Fenney the one way trip would probably be over 25 miles. The problem with these outlying villages is that the clubs meet at various rec. centers and you would probably have to travel a distance to get to your club meetings. Of course I guess you could not join a club that meets some distance from your home.

Fenny

Helo, everyone:
Lets see, 2 new golf courses.
Nature at it best
country club amenities
archery range
air gun range
8 1/2 minutes to lake deaton plaza(by car)
11 minutes to brownwood
you have to envision what will be developing there
based on how the villages have done things in the past.

***** i was on the first trolly to fenny on the
first day. I completed the first land lease in fenny.
So i will take the plunge into the new development.
I believe by the time i really need things closer to me as i age they will be there.
I was able to pick out what i thought was the best lot on the water.
Wish me luck.

Good luck.

Make sure you have a reliable automobile, as it sounds like you will be putting a lot of miles on it.

As you can see in the center of the photo ground breaking for the new monorail station has begun.
