Fenney will be in the middle of The Villages in a couple of years.

Could some of the bashing be from envy.....have heard comments that they should now add some of Southern Oaks amenities close to 466. I suspect as the commercial areas emerge and new restaurants, stores and entertainment show up we may see more bashing or complaining. There are lots of us that love where we live, and most all believe we live in the best neighborhood in The Villages, but bashing other folks choices or their ability to make good decisions for their lifestyle or the Developers vision on what works for others is rude.

We recently chose a Veranda in McClure / New Hampton, a community of just over 80 homes. We wanted a house rather than a villa, but also wanted a fenced back yard, so a Veranda is the perfect choice for us. We also wanted a neighborhood where everyone was new at about the same time, with everyone wanting to make new friends. Last night we attended a neighborhood cookout and party. Everyone was invited and there was a huge turnout. Everyone was so friendly and we couldn't be happier.

Nope.

We love to visit Marsh Bend. We love the pitch-and-putt golf course and we love the 2.8 mile walk around Hogeye Marsh and, after a long (by our standards) walk, we look forward to stopping at the new food trucks promised for the Cattail Rec Center.

Since we do not have a golf cart that has to share the road with cars, we don't care if people speed along Marsh Bend Trail or not. If and when the cars exceed the speed limit, I assume the golf cart riders will care.

Those who live south of 44..... I have read that the standard lots south of 44 are smaller than the standard lots north of 44. Is that true?

Totally agree. LOVE, LOVE, LOVE our location in Mallory Square. Can't beat it!

I don't know, we rented a designer in Pinellas while we were shopping for our Fenney home and it's yard was no larger than the one we bought. In our case we don't have much of a back yard but we're on water so the lawn area around it feels like our back yard and TV maintains it. There are a lot of waterfront and nature lots down here with great views along with peace and quiet. Lots of birds in the water eating fish and sneaking around the alligators, very relaxing when on the lanai.

I don't think you have been paying close attention.

Many of the anonymous bashers are MLS realtors who cannot sell new homes.

The people who live there, such as VintageOgauge and others who have posted since they moved to Fenney, enjoy living there and watching while things are rapidly built.

I don't and never did sell houses so I can tell you that I think that Fenney et al is lovely and moving rapidly to become contiguous to the rest of The Villages.

You make one heck of a very serious allegation against realtors.

Can you substantiate any of it ?

Pretty serious charge being leveled. Not sure how you know or even what kind of posts you allude to, but that's a serious charge.

What is a standard lot? And where did you read this?

You are correct, as long as your "anywhere" includes a dangerous MMP, a neighborhood street with cars coming up behind you, or a sidewalk where the golf carts whiz by a foot away from you.

The walking trails in Southern Oaks are MUCH nicer.

Yes, plan to relocate. Last Oct. Hurricane Michael took my house away. So, it is time I get replanted.

Well, for what it's worth we've had three realtors (two independent and one with close ties to another 55+ community) bash Fenney in no uncertain terms. I'm not going to mention any names, but two mentioned that big hole in the ground & the nearby federal facility, and the other claimed that homes there would not appreciate in value like the rest of TV because of the "less than desireable " neighborhoods that you have to pass by in order to get there. We listened to NONE of them (nor any of the bashers on here) & plan on buying in McClure, Monarch Grove or Marsh Bend sometime this summer. Can't wait to live down there.
