No one and nothing in life is perfect. Everyone is entitled to their own opinion.

I think positive people have a better chance of living longer. Those who tend to the glass as half full. It does make one feel better inside when they are in tune with the world and those around them.

To be negative all the time leaves one feeling not well and I don't see that it can accomplish much. We all live in a stressful world and I think as we age, we have resolved a lot of stressful problems.

The funny thing about life is when we have our problems resolved, those whom we care about, have problems that we like to help them with. So, it's always something.

I don't think of it as rose colored glasses or being protective of TV or polyanna as chided by some.

I think it has to do with some of us who are used to things being done right and proper and responsibly and courteously.....and when it is not some of us are outspoken enough to call it out. It has nothing to do with where we live.

You just happen to be seeing it here on TOTV and we now live in TV. Consider it a set of core values that apply regardless where one lives.

And I do disagree with the statement TV is like anywhere else we have ever lived....because IT IS NOT!!!!!!!

It takes too much energy to have to deal with the stuff that could make my life more stressful than it has to be. Thankfully it seems to be working for me, even up in the snow. Have to say that when we are in TV it is really easy to notice all the pluses and to feel grateful.

"Spot on" LW888!

I read through each post and appreciate the humor, as well as the various points of view. I still live in Michigan and work full time and would like to share a "light bulb" momemt with you. I was on a plane from Detroit to Orlando (coming "home"), when suddenly I could feel myself relaxing and actually smiling. As I thought about it, I realized that when I am in Michigan, I am "surviving", but when I come "home" to "the bubble" I am "living".

My "why" therefore is, why are people so worried about frivolous things when there is "life" out there to enjoy?

Getting back to the non-fart/non-bag thread....

Why is it every single woman I meet and there is mutual attraction, "just visiting" and is on her last 2 days?

Why is there no venue for original music (boomers - remember coffeehouses prior to Starbucks?)?

Why is my cart the slowest on the road?

Why did my motherboard die yesterday (ps. I discovered a truly great tech in Leeland...the kind of guy I worked to hire in my prior life and inexpensive to boot)?

Why does the cat nibble on my toes when I am working on taxes?

I repeat...Why is it every single woman I meet and there is mutual attraction, "just visiting" and is on her last 2 days? This is quite vexing...after a 30 year marriage to Voldemort, I figure I paid my dues.

Oh - and why does Panera always sell out of sourdough loafs, first?

I'm done...gosh, I thought all that venting would help..but, alas, "no."

Nope, I didn't see any of this mess during our trolley tour, and now I feel somewhat deprived. Must have been that rose-colored glass on the trolley bus windows, and come to think of it, I believe the nice lady who narrated the tour WAS named Pollyanna. Who knew?

Maybe they are not looking for a cart. Many like to wipe down their shopping carts before using.

I also do my best to not contribute to the "going wrong" part.

We have all learned how to notice what is "wrong" and our radar can tend to send us in that direction in order to "avoid trouble" so it can take some efforting to notice what is going right. Maybe we all just need to remember to "be the change we want to see" and notice how many others are like us. Bet there are more out there than we can imagine.

My original posting was to be a sort of a scavenger hunt of those thing that some people that most of us don't do... Some responses seemed to take my posting as an attack on Villagers in general, calling me a complainer and whineyr and that she had never viewed anyone doing those little irrating things that people sometime do. Granted , those who do act differently than most of us are a very small minority. My original posting posed the question was why this minority did those factual things...

I don't know Warren, but many philosophers and religious leaders and behavorial specialists have tried to unlock this mystery for centuries.

I guess we will have to just say it is the human condition.
