Default FireStick help

7 month old Firestick is stuck on logo and will not open up.
Tried to reset but no luck.
Suggestions other than buying a new one.
Thanks

This may work. Unplug the Firestick from the electricity. Wait a couple of minutes and plug it back in. Good luck.

I assume by "reset" you mean unplug power. If that is true, then you might try these instructions from Amazon. If that doesn't work, here is an article about how to force it to reset using the remote.

If it's only 7 months old and you bought it from Amazon, it may still be under warranty. Give them a call and they might replace it no charge. I had one that quit working and was several years past warranty. Amazon still gave me partial credit towards a replacement.

Unplug it from BOTH the outlet and the back of the tv for 5 minutes.

Plug it into a different TV and see what it does.

It's a common problem. Try the suggestions in this YouTube video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=um8OD_byf2c

If these suggestions don't work, then do a search at youtube.com for firestick stuck on logo and try anything else found.

It does that when it's upgrading. No indication... it just seems to hang. Usually if you leave it alone for a day it will finally finish.

Goofball stuff like that is why we've been replacing our Firesticks with Roku. None of mine are less than 7 months old, but if you buy me a Roku stick for our last TV, I'll give you a fistful of old Firesticks to try.

I've never seen that problem with the three firesticks I have owned. I don't have a Roku but have heard good things about them. Aside from the problem you are currently having, you should be in good shape with either.

If still stuck, go to your Amazon account, under Account Settings, select Devices, then try "refresh" and if that does nothing, then "deregister" then register again. Worked for me when I had a similar problem.
