I stream utube via quantum fiber using a firestick. All works well until I shut tv off. When I want to turn it back on, nothing happens. If I shut the power strip off and turn back on, then the tv turns on. Any suggestions?

With many televisions the hdmi on the tv and the firestick can be set to automatically wake the fire stick up. Perhaps that is not available or not set correctly on yours.

Which remote are you using to turn on the TV, the Firestick remote or the remote that came with the TV? If the Firestick remote doesn't turn the TV on, it may need to be reprogrammed to your TV.

I agree. I turn my patio TV with Firestick remote. If I have a problem, rebooting the Firestick has worked so far.

The home button wakes up the firestick which turns on the tv. If I am right then the home button will work without pointing the remote at the tv while the on/off will not. Also, the on/off requires that the remote has been configured for the correct tv which is easy enough to do but might not be done yet based on what the OP wrote. I use the home button and my wife uses the on/off - they both can work.

go to settings, equipment control, manage equipment, scroll to tv and click on it. scroll down to change tv and click on it and follow instructions. it will re-pair the remote to the tv and all should be ok.

If you have a USB port on the back of the TV, plug the Firestick in there. That way it’ll use the same electric as the TV. And will get turned on then you turn the TV on. That always works for us.

That depends on the tv. My firestick complained about insufficient power from the USB on my tv.

I agree. I would never plug in a streaming stick into a USB port on a TV because they do not provide sufficient power. And, some USB ports on a TV don't output any power.

I had a problem where the firstick would not shut off anything. All other functions worked. Finally I un plugged the TV, The fire stick power source, the sticks HDMI connector. Everything except the router. Went away for the day, plugged all in and everything worked as advertised.
