Angry Tee time abuse

An article in the Daily Sun a couple of days ago was lauding the accomplishment of a golfer who had already played over 1,000 rounds of golf this year. I believe this was executive golf and he had also played additional championship rounds. That averages out, in round numbers, to over 3 rounds of golf per day, every single day of the year. The article further stated there were some days where he played 7 or more rounds. Hello! I have always been told the rule on executive courses is one round max per day, with certain minor exceptions at a few courses where you could do a back-to-back two round day at certain times of the year. And irrespective of the one round per day rule, the way the tee time point system works, it would have been impossible to get that many tee times! It is virtually impossible to play once every day, especially in busy season. I would sure like to know who this guy is paying off to get all these tee times while at the same time denying the rest of us even one time on many days.

You can only get one tee time reservation per day through the tee time reservation system but you can play as much as you want. How ? Call the starter shacks the day off and ask when they have any openings. There are a fair amount of open spots for single players. So, he/she is probably getting an early tee time through the reservation system and then making phone calls to find open spots.

The OP should try and learn the tee time process before accusing people of taking payoffs. For example, tomorrow there are currently over 400 slots available before 4:00 for an individual to play if they so desire. I am sure Tuesday and Wednesday are the same. Everyone in The Villages has had a chance to take one of them if they desire.

The individual referenced has not kept anyone from playing as they no doubt have just taken open spots.

There is nothing to keep any golfer to go into the tee-time system and get an unused available tee-time. I personally know several guys who golf five to six days a week by picking up unused tee-times. In addition you can call an executive course and ask for an available cancelled tee-time on the same day you want to play. You can many times get another tee-time by asking for any cancellations on the executive course you finished playing. All legal and all good. Fore...

Wife and I played with a gentlemen last year who plays golf all day.
He lives up near Pimlico Exec Course.
He plays as a single, and when he finishes a round, he just asks at starters hut to fit him in with any pair or threesome.
He walks every round as well, and we thoroughly enjoyed his company!

There are a finite number of foursomes allowed per day.
If there is an opening, how can that be labeled "abuse".

You can get multiple tee times per day at exec courses...you just have to make sure they're about 2.5 to 3 hours apart.

People that post false information are of little use to what is the reality of any situation.

It’s post like this that make one wonder about buying in TV. So what - if there is a tee time available as a walk up, why care if the guy is playing his 2nd 9 or 3rd nine.
If original poster is using the article as proof that original poster can never get a tee time, okay, but how is someone playing a lot of golf impacting the poster? Let the guy play golf.

OP has been around since 07, and doesn’t understand how system works. With so much time on everyone’s hand, one would think before insinuating post, look at the golf site

After reading the article I arrived at to conclusions:
1). This whole story is bogus and never happened
2) If true, the dude is a weirdo
