Default Harmeswood, an interesting and beautiful village.

Some of you know that we are renting a home, waiting for a new home to be built. We were invited to rent a home in Harmeswood through the hospitality of two of our TOTV posters.

I had not known about Harmeswood until we had been in Hadley for two years and I was really amazed when we found it and drove through it.

It is located off of Buena Vista just north of the Savannah center. It is past the round about at the Savannah center and is the second right off Buena Vista if you would like to drive through sometime.

The homes in Harmewood are different than much of the architecture in TV. Some look like Cape Cod, some have a Spanish look, some have brick and they all are on much MUCH bigger lots than generally found throughout The Villages.

Some of the homes have HUGE Live Oak trees and deep deep shade and many are on lily pad filled waterways. Harmeswood was built about ten to 12 years ago but gives the impression that it has been here for a longer time, probably because the bushes and trees grow faster here in Florida.

We are grateful to Linda and Larry to allow us to live in their house in this beautiful area.

I believe Harmswood was the first all "Premier" village in The Villages. Yes! The homes and lots are beautiful over there.

Agree, Harmeswood is beautiful and lush, with a "secluded" feel unlike any other Village in TV.

It also appears to be the smallest Village. Anyone else know if that is so?

Sounds lovely! I'd never heard of that village until now. I wonder how many more villages I don't know about, LOL.

There is a nice home for sale in Harmeswood that's listed on TV resales. Looks like a nice setting too.

I'll have to look for it the next time I'm down that way. It sounds beautiful.

I, also, enjoy driving through Harmeswood and looking at the homes and landscaping. I once heard that those who live there are denied using The Villages amenities. I'm assuming this isn't true, right?

Harmeswood is so small it's not even on the map of the various villages north of 466 that I have. I believe it may be part of the Village of Belle Air that is north of Savannah Center.

There is a tiny "L" shaped Village of De Allende on the west side of The Village of Palo Alto that appears to be the smallest village; it looks to be one street wide by about 20 houses long (if there are any houses there?).

No, not true. Amenities are the same here in Harmeswood. There is a village called Hickory Head Hammock that only the people who live there can enter. All other gate passes won't work. It is near Spanish Springs. Allende does have homes and it is a small area. It backs up to the Morse compound.

I went to a meeting in Hickory Head Hammock once. Doesn't look like TV at all. All different kinds of houses.
