Not exactly sporting. Thought Villages fishing is catch and release.

The nets come out of the water full of golf balls, no fish.

Once, I saw a man using a drag net to pull golf balls out of a pond on a golf course.

There is a fellow that has scuba gear that gathers golf balls from the ponds, probably sells them on eBay lol

We spoke with him a couple years ago — he is hired by “the authorities” (I forget who) to salvage golf balls out of the ponds. At that time he had been bitten 11 times by alligators!

There is a cottage business of retrieving golf balls. Our son is a head pro at a Marriott course, and the contractor pays the club to be allowed to dive for them. It is a win win. They are then sold on eBay and some big box stores sell them by the bag.

Used to have a special pole that telescoped to about 15 feet for retrieving golf balls.

Worked better than any other club

So, then, is it legal to catch golf balls with nets?
