Lee Greenwood is preforming tonight at The Sharon. It my have been a nice gesture when he sings God bless the U S A , which I'm sure he will, if it could have been piped into all the P A in The Villages just for that song. I think all the country could use that right now. The Villages to.

I remember the first time we woke up in The Villages on Presidents' Day to see the street lined with US flags. I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE the patriotism in the United States. Americans have a strong, visceral sense of identity; and we are blessed to feel part of that when we spend six months every year in our Florida home.

It is so patriotic even the Confederate flag is being flown here ! Just saw one in someone's backyard off Buena Vista. I do believe it's as American as the Stars and Stripes, political correctness shouldn't apply here. Happy 4th of July !

Patriotism has it's small following now. Wait 10 years we will have new flag cause the old one reminds of so much wrong. Also faces on paper money will have to be replaced also to really heal the pass. just wait

With all due respect... baloney! We have had the same basic American flag forever. Americans put more emphasis on their flag and its meaning than any other country. There is no small following of patriotism. It's huge. Don't let the choices of the media overcome you.

Any national holiday if you want a healthy dose of American spirit just drive through the small Florida town of Bunnell Florida. Every 50 feet they have a 3 by 4 ft. Flag on a pole on most of the town streets. Every holiday year in, year out. My favorite delivery spot on my old job.

Thanks for the link. I will never get tired of hearing that song. In my prior life, my son went out and photographed our community after 9/11 with all the flags waving. We put all those photo's and Lee's song on our web site and got thousands of hits.
