Default Terrible mail service in Village of Tall Trees

Once upon a time you could expect to pick up your mail at your mailbox in the Villages of Tall Trees at a reasonable hour. The lady who worked there was very nice and very professional. I haven't seen her in a while. Now someone in a beat-up pickup truck is apparently our new mailman. Now you are lucky if your mail is placed in your box by 5:00 pm. By the way, I just visited my mailbox center at 5 pm and guess what? No mail. A number of other folks were milling around outside expressing their frustration. If anyone knows who I should contact to complain about this issue, please respond.

Sorry for your issues, but have you thought about having all of your important mail go to paperless? We have informed mail, know if scripts are coming and that’s the only time we go to the Mail station. We might drop by once a week or every 10 days. I really have no idea when mail people are there. Rarely stop by before 8

We pick up our mail the next day....then it doesn't matter what time they put it there.

News flash, it’s not a problem in just the OP’s Village. The entire mail system has truly migrated towards its defacto nickname, snail mail. Even Amazon Prime members, who pay for supposedly next day delivery, often have to wait several days for an order. The new normal for just about all services is to adjust your expectations and expect not so good services.

Serious first world problems.

What could possibly be so important that it cant wait until tomorrow or after dinner?

Especially given the fact Informed Delivery shows exactly what will be delivered to your box.

I sometimes wait several days before picking up my mail. I can’t figure out why a lot of people have to be at the postal stations at the same time every day. I attribute it to them being bored.

First world problem, for sure. A hobby perhaps?

I pick up my mail once every 10 days or so. 99 percent of it is junk.

OP, you may want to ask the Postmaster if there is a rule about when the mail needs to be delivered. If so, that could be a way to document that they are not doing their job, and escalate the issue.

Go paperless to the extent possible. It’s safer and the smart thing to do. If your mail is delivered reliably at 5pm each day you are doing fine and have no complaint. Somebody is always at the end of the route.
Don’t waste the postmaster’s time.

According to the USPS, mail should be delivered by 5PM. If your mail is consistently delivered after 5PM, I think you have a valid complaint to the Post Office. Otherwise, you do not.

Sign up for USPS Informed Delivery and you can see what mail to expect, including future delivery on tracking numbers.
Mail delivery has become very slip-shod , just a sign of the times.
