One a bike ride I had my phone in a loose coat pocket. Wouldn't talk to me beyond the initial instruction- then it would return to its menu screen. Rinse and repeat. it was useless.

In the golf cart it stops talking after a few minutes, but continues to show the blue route line. So once every few minutes we hit the START button and it will talk to us for another couple of minutes.

Is this typical for this app? Is there a solution?

1.Delete and reinstall app.

Although for a bike I would use Google Maps bike mode. I wouldn't use it for a golf cart or MMP bike directions.

What type of phone?, I use an android, and it talks the whole trip, however, I also plug the phone in, in a prior version it appeared to stop talking if it was not plugged in.

Android. We always plug it in in the golf cart. Do eBikes have a port to plug phones in?

Do you have something like Bluetooth headphones or speakers that maybe the audio is going to instead of the phone.

I always found Android 3rd party apps to be buggy.

Apple gives developers better tools for app creation.
