Default Village of Fernandina

Does anyone know why the new designer area ( unit 198) in Fernandina is not shown on the Villages website? It was opened the first week of November and yet the latest unit in Sanibel (#196) that just opened last week is already listed. Any new Fernandina lots owners out there?

Default Good Question

QAlmost looks like a secret sale as most of the prime lots are either sold or are work in progress. Makes ya wonder doesn't it!!

I think we posted each other before, my husband and I bought in Fernandina the first week of November, we are on Pinellas and the first cul de sac on Killington Loop (Unit 198 lot 54) . I too wonder why the premier homes of Fernandina are on the website but not the designers. We hope to build an extended Begonia in the spring/summer of 2012.

Hi BigBen... yes, yours was the only response I got when I posted this question on another thread. I thought maybe a new thread would get more input. We too are hoping to move there in the summer of 2012. We are building a Lilac and can't wait to move !!

We purchased a lot in Fernandina on Braddock Court a week ago. Now hope our house sells in Orlando.

It appears they don't open a new section until the people who are on the list waiting for prime lots have the first opportunity. That way people can't come in and buy them out before the people who have been waiting.

I noticed that when they open a new section, most of the good lots are gone. Add to that, that when we secured our lot we were under the impression that if we didn't take that one, we could go on a list for the new lots that opened in the future.

Your thoughts???

You might be right, Angie. We were never told anything about a waiting list so if it exists, it's news to us. However, when we were there in August, we had also noticed that lots were sold in a area we didn't even know was available. At this point it doesn't matter to us as we bought our lot in Nov and are planning to start building in March. The developers work in mysterious ways and I guess we all just keep trying to figure out how.

There is no "waiting list" but all of the sales representatives keep lists of the special needs/wants of their clients and try to be first in line when a new section is released. I told my representative exactly which lot I wanted at least two months before our section was released (they are shown on the Sumter County Property Assessor's website at least several weeks ahead Sumter County Property Appraiser - Ronnie Hawkins, CFA - Bushnell, Florida - 352-569-6800).

Our section was released on February 28, 2011 at 4:00 PM. My representative was on the phone at 4:00, as were all of the other representatives who had people on their "wish lists". By 4:20 PM, ALL of the view lots and many of the interior lots were taken.

Am I missing something? February 28, 2012 has not occurred yet.
