Frog/Toad between bedroom screen and window
Second time we've gotten a pale looking toad or frog between the screen and window. Not sure how it gets there. How do we prevent it?
Thanks for any wisdom. |

Never had a frog inside the screen. Had insects and spiders only through the crack at the bottom.
I don't know how a frog can get in your window screen. That would be a tight squeeze. Anoles, Wasps, Hornets get in my birdcage. Don't know how they would get in either. I'm thinking the siding has openings. Last edited by Calisport; 07-21-2022 at 09:24 PM. Reason: grammar |

You also should check the weep holes. A tiny frog might get in through there. There are screens for weep holes. My biggest problem is frogs, anoles, and bugs getting in between my sliding glass door and my sliding screen door. That happens almost every day. Was told by the warranty department that the screens were designed that way!! Perhaps they need a better designer!! |

Since we don't open our windows, we removed the exterior screens. They don't look nice and need to be cleaned occasionally...

I had this before, somewhere your screen is loose around the frame.... fix that , and your problem will be solved.

try spraying a bit of vinegar around the edge of the screen, that'll probablly discourage him.
it's a gentle deterrent. you may have to reapply if it rains. |

Evidently the screen loose fit. Raise window remove the frog, Problem solved. Either screen not made to dimensions or previous owner pry on it and warped it not knowing how to get screen out.

I have the same issue, though my frog must eat juicier insects as it is not pale. We leave the front porch light on at night. This attracts insects, which attracted the frog (and gecko).Do you have an outside light near where the frog is?

Brand new home; had the glass/screen sliding door checked off on the warranty list for them to look at because there were several tiny bug/mosquito carcasses/pieces on the inside track. Thought sliding door(s) had to be flipped or something to prevent that. Glass door guy later checks it, says working as intended and leaves. Warranty department said if the company itself says it's ok then they're the experts.
