Interesting.

I have personally found, in general, that I respect sales people much more...than I do a lot of union employees and most union leadership.

Different strokes I guess.

As for FSBO's, our current house was purchased this way...and went drama free and very well.

In fact, our purchase price was substantially less (than the 6% the buyers would have paid)...than when they advertised with an agent.

Interesting the guy asked about FSBO and he got like 20 responses assuming he was selling. I sort of thought he was looking at Buying, especially since he has been posting on other threads about budgeting home remodelling issues.

My advice on buying a FSBO is do it. Hire McClin and Burnsed and they will do the paperfork for $500. I got an excellent deal on a home in Fernandina that was a FSBO. I think it would have been at least $10000 more if it were listed by TV or MLS.
As far as selling, I am not sold on it. Most people come here and work with 2 realtors, they are not looking for FSBOs. So you will get a lot more people looking with a TV agent.

I think the guy who was whining about paying a realtor probably worked his whole life and never asked for a paycheck, since he believes in people not getting paid for their work..... kind of stupid. Realtors work very hard and have to deal with a lot of "personalities". They deserve what they get.

Those assumptions were correct. If I saw a home I wanted buy, I would not hesitate just because it was FSBO. I'd just be careful. I just wanted some opinions on selling using FSBO in case I consider selling in the future.

And as far as "other threads about budgeting home remodeling issues"...that's a bit of a stretch. I posted one thread asking ball park wild guesses on a birdcage.
