We have a 46" Sony Bravia 4 year old flat screen TV. The sound suddenly went out. Sony had a recall on this model within one year of our purchase, they sent repair came out fixed the picture problem and it has worked fine untill today. Anyone have same problem, trying to decide if it is worth fixing.

Have you tried contacting Sony to see if they will repair the TV as it had been recalled? About 5 years ago I purchased a new KDL series and fortunately I also purchased the Sony extended warranty. I had several problems and Sony fixed them, but then the set would not turn on. I did research and learned that Sony continued manufacturing these TVs knowing there was a defective design. I pushed Sony because I had several months left on my warranty and ultimately settled with them for about $1500. Sony lost a lot of faithful customers once there shoddy manufacturing was uncovered. I took the money and purchased a Toshiba LED TV. I'm done buying Sony products. Good luck!

Don't know much about repairing it but a sound bar would work if it's just the sound and you could continue to use it. They have some inexpensive sound bars.
