Thank you for this positive post! I can’t comment as we are not villagers yet but very, very soon! I enjoyed reading the responses.

Thank you for your positive responses. I am not living in The Villages, yet, but hope soon. I went on this post to read about happy things in life instead of the sadness that the news can bring.

1) Thunder storms, yes they are just amazing. 2) The lap lanes in the sports pools - that's probably my biggest enjoyment after spending 8+ years trying to swim laps in a crowded municipal pool.

Yep. They're something you learn about in a hurry.

Last July I was out walking one afternoon. I usually carry an umbrella just in case but as the sky was nearly cloudless when I left home I felt I didn't need it. Well, one of those storms blew up out of nowhere while I was still about two miles from home. No biggie--hot day, and the rain felt good. I just took off my shirt and kept going, drenched. I got to the gate house and the guy jokingly said "looks like you forgot something".

"Yep" I replied, "soap".

For a golfer it is heaven. I can wake up in the morning and a 7-minute golf cart ride can bring me to the first tee of four executive courses or two championship courses.

Many things that I love about TV. It is not perfect, and there are things that I would change, but that could be said for every city/community in the world. What I really appreciate is the beauty of the place. I would defy anyone to show me a development of 100K plus residents anywhere in the world, or even much smaller, that is close to as beautifly maintained and designed. I will also congratulate the residents, as the beauty of the common areas is outdone by the beauty of individual homes and yard landscaping. When we first came here in 2010 we were astonished by the landscaping and infrastructure and it has only improved over the last twelve years.

I still work, outside the home. I have a 1/2-hour drive each way. If you've ever paid attention to the areas surrounding TV, you will absolutely appreciate that you are able to live here. I sometimes lose that perspective and it is nice to regain.

Again, still working, I appreciate living in the bubble during my off hours. So much of the US is polarized about everything -- schools, politics, law enforcement, entertainment, etc. We bicker and argue here, but at least we are generally in the same socio-economic age group -- our differences are not as vast as what I experienced back north, and working here locally. The Bubble rules.

When we get guests, they utter some form of "You live, permanently, on vacation." It is a compliment to the general upscale environs and offerings of TV.

The Bubble is nice, not perfect, no, no, but really nice.

I feel safe, warm weather, lots of things to do, small home for easy maintenance, and family in Florida. I can't wait to retire...
