Default Garage door

I have a gap on the bottom left side of my garage door. The rubber is old. Who to call to replace the bottom rubber seal?

Take a photo of the rubber seal and go to Home Depot. Another source is Amazon. This is a relatively easy DIY project.

Depending on where you live in The Villages, the vast majority are these. Clopay garage doors. Replacements are available at Home Depot. They come in 18’ and 9’, and are easy to trim.

Replacement is straightforward. The original installers typically put a couple self tapping sheet metal screws at each end. Be sure to unscrew them before trying to remove the old seal.

When reinstalling, depending on the condition of the metal track, it’s sometimes helpful to apply some liquid soap on the new seal. I’ve replaced many of these, and for the 16’ garage doors it’s helpful to have a second person, but not required.

Surprized you weren't told to do a search by the know it alls, as this was discussed recently.

Generally, there seems to be two (2) types of garage doors in The Villages - a single track and a double track for the bottom seal. Lowes & Home Depot sell the double track but I could not find the single track locally. The single track is a Clopay garage door. I found a single track bottom seal on Amazon Amazon.com
Applying liquid soap helps to slide the seal along the gasket. Two people make installing the track easier, a lot easier.

My bottom seal was 9 years old and was at the end of its useful life. Florida weather and sun (UV rays) deteriorate plastic and rubber over a few short years. Same is true for batteries. I've been in Florida over 30 years and I generally get 3 years life out of auto battery. If I make it to 4 years, I replace the battery because I know it's only a matter of time before the battery is dead.

OP, if you decide to DIY, apply a soap and water mixture to the track and the new rubber seal as this will make it much easier to install.

My body says I'm past the time I do this myself.

call? that thing is super easy to replace, slide out slide in. also when you do it, take some publix plastic bags and stuff them into the opening of the strip and i mean stuff.... all the way you'll get a much better seal

Default Garage weather stripping

[LEFT]I recently had mine done by Romac. I also had the side and top trim (soft pliable white weather stripping) replaced and the box by door going into house (for opening/closing garage door) replaced, total cost $300.
I know I paid more than the norm for all of this. I was quoted $200 for the trim and the black rubber piece on the bottom but it all went wrong because I had to wait two months for the bottom weather stripping to come in and the guy who came to do it charged me alot more than expected. But should cost $200 to have it all done by Romac.
