Default Did Your Homeowners Insurance Go Up?

Just received our new homeowners insurance bill from American Integrity. It went up $100 from last year. Just curious to see if they have all increased.

What percentage increase is that? 100.00 by itself is meaningless.

If you are cost sensitive, you need to shop around often for both auto and homeowners insurance and be willing to switch. Otherwise, you will fall victim to "price optimization". That is the insurance industry term for continually raising rates for loyal customers. They identify loyal customers as those who will not switch companies when they raise your rate. The only way to avoid these increases is to be willing to change companies on a regular basis. Sad, but true.

Our American Integrity (AIIC) went up about 20% this year after having been flat for the previous 8 years. Guess having a hurricane in the area last year will do that. Villages Insurance found us a new policy with Travelers that is 15% less than what we paid AIIC last year. Pays to shop around...

Our AIIC policy has also gone up 20% this year,
and I now have Villages Insurance looking for other options.
It is a little more work, but I agree, it does pay to shop around from time to time!
Wonder if Irma and the many fraudulant roof claims
have anything to do with the rising rates.

I purchased Allstate last year because they offered sinkhole coverage with a low deductible. My renewal was actually a few dollars lower.
