Default any beach boys fans...

going to either concert tomorrow nite with california surf inc @ savannah center?

band is comprised of original and later-added back up band members. one is matt jardne, son of beach boy al jardine; and another is billy hinsche who was one third of dino, desi and billy before he joined the beach boys.

meet and greet is supposed to follow concert.

i'll be there - anyone else?

Not in TV quite yet, so I won't be at this concert.

But I couldn't begin to tell you how many times I've seen the Beach Boys in concert over the years, I'm sure at least a dozen times or so. But by far the most enjoyable was about ten years ago when I got to see Brian Wilson, by himself with only a small band. He did the entire Pet Sounds album from start to finish. One of the best concerts ever, and by undeniably one of the greatest rock legends of our time.

serenoa - could not agree with you more!!!! brian wilson is a musical genius! and these guys who are appearing in this configuration carry brian's musical legacy to fans with tender, loving care! you should hear billy and bobby duet on sail on sailor!

if you have seen a dozen concerts, you must have seen ed carter [on bass] and billy hinsche [on keyboard] as back-up! and maybe even matt jardine since he has been with them since his days at arizona state.

sorry you will miss this show - but check the facebook page for california surf inc and you might see a video clip or two and some candid shots.

Sorry, but I don't recall seeing either one of those guys. Until I saw Brian's Pet Sounds concert I probably hadn't been to another Beach Boys concert since sometime in the mid to late 80s maybe. Other than the Wilson brothers, Jardine, and Love, the only other guys I ever remember seeing are Bruce Johnston, Blondie Chaplin, and Ricky Fataar on drums. Don't recall why Dennis wasn't on drums, but am sure it was well before he died.

Hope you enjoy the show. We went to a nice Christmas show at Savannah when we were at TV in Dec. Great little venue.

a concert with the Hammond b-3 organ played by mike meros! so sad when he passed from a sudden heart attack. and sadder that the Hammond has been replaced by elec keyboards - yuk!

With your mention of the Hammond I got looking for some music to hear where the Hammond was used. Boy, did I ever find a bunch of good stuff by a musican named Jack Moelmann using his Hammond H-100. I think you'll enjoy the selections I found at this YouTube page.

I would be there if I didn't have "Carousel" rehearsal. The Beach Boys are my 2nd favorite band all time after The Beatles. As far as the Hammond B-3 goes, I hope our own Capt. John weighs in, as he still owns one and plays it! We anxiously await the day when he will move to TV so we can all enjoy it! Of course, we'll have to find 6 guys to move the darn thing around! They weigh a ton which may be one of the main reason electronic keyboards have replaced them with live bands.
