Default Gate Emplooyee

What are the Gate Employee's role in manning the gates. Today I pulled into a Residents Gate in the area of Lake Sumter Landing. As I approached the gate my gate pass fell and the Senior Citizen manning the gate refused my entry unless I got out of the car, and pushed the "Red Button". As I asked a couple of times to please open and he refused unless I got out of the car and pushed the button he left the "non residents" gate open and cars were flying through while I was being held up along with the cars behind me. I take responsibility for dropping the gate pass but the gate employee, was on a power trip which is a first for me. As an aside, he was smirking as he was shaking his head that he would not open the gate. We have been residents around 14 years and I have never had an experience like this from a Village Employee. I should add that I had just made a round trip to Mayo Clinic and was tired and not prepared for someone who needed attention at my expense. Please no lecturers on responsibilities. I really don't
need that right now!!!

I'm so sorry this happened to you. Especially after what I assume was a stressful trip to Mayo. I don't know who you might call to report it, but maybe someone online here will know. I hope your days going forward are better, and good health to you and yours.

Call Joe @ (845) 542-7365. He will come to your home, clone you gate card and install it in your mirror. $25. Then you'll never drop it or hold it out the window in the rain.

Sounds like the gate operator doesn’t fit with the theme of “Florida’s Friendliest Hometown”! I wish the people operating the gate on Morse Blvd. going north, just north of 466, would periodically hold up car traffic at the gate to allow golf carts to cross over from the golf cart lane on Morse southbound to the multi-model path. I have never seen a gate operator turn around to check out how many golf carts are lined up trying to cross over to the MMP. Frankly, if they don’t do that one simple task, why do they even need to be there?

First off Stay Strong. Maybe he was new. Guessing you did not know where your gate key fell. Get some rest and tomorrow will be a better day.

Should of reported the guy, the gates are not gates but traffic control he can’t refuse anybody coming in gates on public roads.

That gate busiest gate in villages. I avoid going down MB with golf cart. IMO bad design.

Get one of those slinky lanyard dealies and hang the gate pass from your blinker switch. Easy to reach and if you drop it it’s easy to grab

Had both my car and cart gate card cloned by Joe. Works great. No more rolling my window down or putting my hand out of my plastic cart cover when it is raining. Highly recommend.

If he were a kind person, he could have picked it up for you, but obviously he wasn’t.
