It says compatible with HID Prox, which is 125kHz, which is what your card probably is if it says HID on it. It says not compatible with HID iCLASS, which is 13.56MHz.

What are the Legal issues in doing or having this done? Does The Villages management prohibit dupliction of the Cards? I don't see a Do Not Rep[licate notice on my card and sure don't remember the forms I signed 11 years ago. Has anyone followed up with The Powers That Be?

Thanks for posting.

Does anyone have first hand experience with the amazon linked cards and programmer? I want to make sure this is compatible with our exiting cards.
Thanks,

Yes it is a RFID 125khz ,T5577 card. I can confirm, this is what I use. The problem with the one listed on Amazon is it is only 25 mm, works good on golf cart mirror, but to small to work thru car mirror and distance. You really need the 35 mm RFID chips, which can be found on aliexpress. These work behind mirror and have the longer range needed. The problem is the newer gates south of 44 seem to be at different heights, and some Trucks and SUV mirrors sit to high. I have been doing a lot of trial and error, and the chips work good, but not on all the gates or vehicles.

Joe, I have NO idea why you've gotten so many negative responses and I'm hoping that you are simply ignoring them. I have a chip in both of my golf carts and my car and both my wife and I love them. About 15 of my neighbors also have them and we are believers and supporters of the chips.

Are you saying "Joe" is the original poster? As in Joe the chip guy. A lot of the flack is over the car hijacking comment.

It's the one thing a gate card is good for if you're not a resident.

Amazon.com

No, these are NFC and not suitable for this application. You need RFID 125khz tags.
