Nobody ripped it apart this time.. I think it wore out from to much use. It’s going to be a parade once BJ’s opens. Have patience while waiting in line at the gate and don’t forget your gate card because there is no Red Button to push.

I was there 2 days ago and it was working fine. In fact, I saw a guy stopped on "our" side of the gate, stopping golf cart drivers to ask them about this very same thing, and he said he read about it on Nextdoor. If that was you in the Boston baseball cap, OP, then I told you then, that the State has no say-so in what does or does not happen to our gate. The road it leads to isn't a state road, the gate isn't a state-regulated gate. It leads to the back-road that starts at the alternative-medicine building at the gate, to the Stonecrest Gate past Walmart and the Dollar Store and all that.

Part of it is only accessible via golf cart - including the gate itself, and the path from Aldi's to Walmart (which has a side-path to a Stonecrest golf-cart gate).

I don't know why anyone would actually stand there beside his golf cart asking everyone if they'd heard about this and if it was true, when a simple phone call to the Villages Community Watch (which oversees the gate) would have given them the answer.

How about that. I went through there yesterday around noon to Lowes and the same ball cap guy asking the same question. I responded with "who told you this". He says "all over social media". I respond "and you believe it because it is on social media ? Half of those posters live to tweek. All you need to do is call The Villages Customer Service to verify the rumor rather than stand here and perpetuate it". He was gone on my way back.

FYI - my plumbing job did not go well.

So how would I get a pass into Stonecrest if I wanted to golf there?

I met people from Stonecrest at Spanish Springs that came throw the gate
with their golf cart.

xlhig 05-06-2022 11:14 AM

No pass needed to get into Stonecest if you are going to golf or going to Cheers.
