I am searching for a local air conditioning service provider. Up to now I have been using Patricks AC out of Ocala. Our first contact with Patricks involved meeting with Mr. Patrick to install a new AC in our villa. Mr. Patrick apparently sold to a firm that was gathering up several local AC companies. At that point the service declined and they occasionally proposed over- priced services and products. In 2019 we had them install a Dakin AC system that included a warranty. Recently our blower motor failed and that part was fully covered by the warranty. However, the new Patricks wanted $1,600 for the 3.5 hours to install the replacement motor. My phone call to the business manager got me nowhere and an email to Dakin received no response.

Past discussions on Talk of the Villages seem to have the same thread of local companies coming under the umbrella of more regional companies and franchises resulting in higher prices and service upselling. We might be better off if we support local companies.

So, any suggestions for a local air conditioning service provider would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

I use Kalo's services. I was referred to them by Chuck Farrell's company because they were too busy.
On the other hand, I will never use or recommend Munn's again. Way overpriced.

Had Sunshine A/C for years...........since they installed the unit in my new home.
Good service, jus kept increasing prices at a rapid rate.

Moved over to Sun Kool about four years ago.
About 1/2 price of Sunshine.
Great service.

Munn's for repairs. I don't pay any company for routine maintenance. I do it myself. Change the filter, flush out the condensate drain, and inspect the inside and outside coils for dirt or rust. Easy to do and nothing else is needed.
