Championship courses offsite
What championship courses do you recommend offsite close to the Villages? We have played Baseline, Harbor Hills and Eagle Ridge but looking for more!

Red Tail in Sorrento, World Woods in Brooksville, and LaJovita in Dae City. All are a hour or so away, but worth the trip.

Don’t know about copperhead but black bear is a bear especially if you get in one of their deep sand traps

I also like Black Bear and if you are on their email list you can get specials. The course was designed by P.B. Dye, son of Pete Dye, and he put in a lot of what I call moguls (similar to ski moguls) which can either really help you or hurt you. It's definitely a challenging course, but worth the drive.

Great greens that put any in The Villages to shame. Great design by the legendary Desmond Muirhead. Cart paths and rough are somewhat in need of repair, but a very challenging layout indeed. #18 will bring you to your knees. |
