Default Gnats from retention pond

Looking at a CYV that backs to a retention pond. The bugs on the lanai screen are horrible. I’m sure this a dumb question but is this a year round issue? I

A simple way to get rid of gnats.

In a cup put 1/2 cup of water, 3 TBSP of sugar, 1/4 cup of apple cider vinegar, and 6 drops of dish soap. The sweetness of the liquid attracts them and the sticky dish soap holds them down. Set the cup anywhere in the area.

No it is not a year round problem. You might be seeing blind mosquito's that will sometimes swarm for up to two weeks in the general area of any kind of water or pond. They do not bite and individually die within 48 hours of showing up. Like love bugs they can be a nuisance but don't show up very often nor last very long. Welcome to Florida!
