As I was coming back over the bridge to the historic side I noticed an electric sign stating that the bridge will be closed. I did not want to hold up traffic to see the dates, so does anyone out there know whats going on and will there be an alternative for going across 27/441 for us folks that only drive golf carts?

..... the following email will show that the bridge WILL NOT be closed:

" Although it is not related to the multi-modal path project, La Grande Blvd on the east side of 441 will be closed for part of the day this Saturday and again the following Saturday. District Property Management will be installing new curb and repaving this road. However, many residents think that this closure is related to the path project and have “heard” that the bridge over 441 will be closed. This is not the case. The repaving of La Grande Blvd is not related to the path project and the bridge will not be closed this weekend.

The sign says the bridge will close tonight at nine and open tomorrow morning at 6. No mention in today's Sun that I could find and no alternate plan. Interesting...Signs were posted indicating that the bridge would be closed on Saturday and Sunday.

Thanks. I guess not too many people will be going over at that hour. I hope the construction noise isn't too bad for the folks that live near the bridge.

If the bridge is closed at 9 many historic area folks in carts in squares and others places will be stuck - no other way to legally cross 441/27.

Read tkret's post above. I received the same e-mail from Eva Rey. The bridge will NOT be closed.

Your Hysterical District reporter just returned from the golf cart bridge. According to the construction workers on scene the work should be completed and the bridge reopened about 1AM.
Plans to close the golf cart bridge on Saturday and Sunday have been canceled for now. Not everyone got the memo.
