We are cartless snowbirds as well. Every single sales rep, and I've talked with a bunch, and one mechanic told me I'd be better off with a gas cart until I become fulltime.
I don't pretend to know much at all about carts, that's why I ask advice.

Yoda, That's funny. My dad can't wait to come see the golf cart we purchased in December because he claims he's never seen a gas one.

At the courses I play in NY State, almost all the courses have gas carts. Granted, I don't play the fancy courses, but of the several courses I play routinely, only one has electric carts.
I never asked the reason for their choice of carts but I'll make it a point of asking this year.
