The number of golf cart citations written in TV decreased last month. Supervisors in Village Community Development Districts 5-8 learned from Sumter County Sheriff's Lt. Nehemiah Wolfe Friday during regularly scheduled meetings that deputies issued 12 golf cart citations from Aug.8 through Oct 17 for speeding, running stop signs and operating golf cars capable of exceeding state speed limitations.
CDD 5 Vice Chairman Walter Martin noted that 16 golf cart citations were written during the previous summer months, representing a drop.
In response, Wolfe said the Sheriff's Office continues to monitor areas and that they are not getting a many golf cart citations now.
