Now that is thinking with your head rather than Just using it to hold your hat

YAY, I COULDN'T HAVE SAID IT BETTER!!!
Someone please explain why they (bike, walker, skateboard, mobility scooter or any other method to cross) don't get ticketed? At least in a golf cart we have a little more protection.

Heck I hold my breath while I am riving on thoe roads in a car....not really but close to it

Very smart of you, however the point is that you are legally allowed to cross if you choose to. In a golf cart, we are not legally allowed to.

I believe the majority of TV property owners would not be in favor of allowing non-residents golf cart access on par with residents access.

I know I would not.

I agree totally. This is one for the "be careful what you ask for" file.

This has nothing to do with the Villages... It's a State Law that we can't cross...nothing more. In fact, they are allowing carts to cross 441 up on the north side

Not quite accurate. Each municipality gets to decide what side streets are allowed to cross over main roads. As more and more Florida cities allow golf cart driving on their streets, it is up to each town, city, or unincorporated area to decide where the legal crossings will be.

Isn't it both? IIRC, Stonecrest had to get Florida DOT to sign off on the crossing of 441 after they got it OK'd by the town.

Statutes & Constitution :View Statutes : Online Sunshine

Apparently the law was changed in 2014. It's very difficult to understand all the legalese in the statute, at least for the lay person.

Default I agree memason

I've had golf cart street legal owners argue that only street legals should be allowed to cross because they have a roll-bar, hmmmm! wonder how much protection the roll-bar will give them when that semi-truck hits the street legal golf cart...If anything is allowed to cross highways legally, then ALL should be allowed.

You are right it, is state law however I would be shocked if TV (and their political clout) would ever support golf cart access to non-residents.

Without TV support, it ain't going to happen. Just my opinion.
