I wait patiently for The Villages to build the oval track for Sunday fun.

If you install the right kind of roof and secure it, you might be able to FLY over other traffic:1rotfl::1rotfl::1rotfl:

What I don't understand is why the Police don't control this unsafe practice. Maybe they have been told Not to enforce the golf cart speed limits. A speeding golf cart is, in some ways, MORE dangerous than a speeding car. A car has a LOWER center of gravity than a gasoline golf cart. Electric carts have a lower center of gravity. Golf carts have bad brakes and the gas ones can turn over easily (especially those with altered speed controls that go over 25 MPH.) I think that senior cart drivers of speed altered carts are re-living their teen and 20 year old days, when they owned HOT RODS. maybe a FAST golf cart makes them think that they are young again. Whatever the psychology, WE are PAYING for law enforcement to provide safe streets to walk and ride on!!!!!!

I am pretty sure the roof would fly off of that.

This is useful.

My golf cart has the governor on so it cannot go more than 19 MPH.

Almost every other golf cart passes us.

Yes, that is the problem that the Police should be able to solve !

This is the part that upsets me about people driving without governors, golf carts weren’t built like a Corvette to go 190 miles an hour and stop and turn on a dime, they were built to do 20 or 21. I’m sure many of us have jammed on the brakes to avoid hitting another cart or a car that didn’t see us and had the realization that we were riding in nothing but plastic if we actually collided. So I don’t appreciate the people who think it’s OK to drive faster than The Villages rules which match the equipment and path construction. that can cause harm to others if they have.

A friend of mine had her cart tipped over when a passer cut too close to her rear end and will be in rehab for months how can we say that that’s an OK thing. The driver didn’t even stop when others were rushing to aid.

I guess that the "US's friendliest City" sign will HAVE to be taken DOWN !!!!!

Am I dictating speed to others if I don't slow down to let the speeders pass me? If that is true, then the speeders are dictating to me that I must slow down for them to pass. No?

There is a vehicle I really miss seeing around this area if the Villages. It was a motorcycle with a sidecar that had a small pooch with goggles on his or her head. The dog looked to be enjoying itself. He was not going very fast though.

I remember the dog. I believe her name is/was Sadie. I haven't seen the dog or the vehicle in a few years.

Do that on a highway, and...... Florida statute 316.081:

(3) On a road, street, or highway having two or more lanes allowing movement in the same direction, a driver may not continue to operate a motor vehicle in the furthermost left-hand lane if the driver knows or reasonably should know that he or she is being overtaken in that lane from the rear by a motor vehicle traveling at a higher rate of speed. This subsection does not apply to drivers operating a vehicle that is overtaking another vehicle proceeding in the same direction, or is preparing for a left turn at an intersection.

I don't mind the salutes when I'm in my golf cart. Having said that, I absolutely agree with you with regards to driving a vehicle on a roadway.

I have an electric cart. Why do electric carts have a lower center of gravity than gas carts? Is the weight of the batteries heavier than the filled gas tank?

Yep, the police. Or Big Brother. Or the Gestapo. Again, be careful what you wish for

I've not seen the analysis but electric carts likely have a *higher* center of gravity. In my carts the battery is lighter than the gasoline engine, sits higher than the bulk of the gasoline engine, and has a lighter gear case than the gasoline engine.

An EV automobile with 300 miles worth of batteries at or below the axle would have a different calculation.

It has never said "US's". It has always said "Florida's".
