Default BBQ'ers?

I saw something on a web site a couple of years about a Villages BBQ team. BBQ as in smoked meat, not as in grilling fish/chicken/meat.

Does anyone know about a BBQ team in TV?

Does anyone know about any Villagers who use smokers?

Thanks for your help on this.

Dirigo:

Not quite sure who you might uncover with your special request. But, observe this:

Almost every day as I move about The Villages I see huge barbecue cookers sitting near lanais, covered but ready for action at the drop of a cover!

Who knows if these gadgets are actually smokers? Seeing as how I gave up grilling several years ago, I'm not sure even when I run across dedicated grillers!

Despite all this uncertainty, know that someone will appear with the ultimate answer and you will find soulmates!

When you have it all worked out, be sure to invite all TOTV-ers to your house for a pig out!

I smoke a bit here, did a butt last year for The Kentucky Derby. I do mostly pork and brisket. Smoke alot more up North. I think it is because I am so busy here with Pickle Ball, golf etc. A nice brisket takes me 10-12 hours. Our son lives in South Georgia and smokes almost every week. Has a great 500 gal smoker on wheels and can do 18 butts at once. Nothing like a good home made BBQ dinner. Don't know about a team but there are at least two of us, a couple more and we can make a team.

We are from the Augusta area.

OOB? Maine's fun spot!

When is the cook off this year? Do you know where I can find some information about the cook off? I can't seem to find a listing of upcoming events.
