Default Question

Is there a reason why people driving golf carts hang their left knee out at a 90 degree angle from the cart? Or, hang their flip flop shod foot out close to the road? Am I doing it wrong? Does this have a pro do with loofahs?

It's a physical thing.

The hanging knee offenders are always overweight males. The knee gets in the way of the protruding belly.

Not true, as a tall thin guy with long legs I am a knee hanger. Why, sometimes the steering wheel gets in my way, it’s comfortable, and because I can : )

I suspect that the answer to this is the lack of space in the golf cart. I am 6'-2" and unlike a car where there is room under the dash for your feet, a golf cart does not have that same configuration. So I can't extend my feet like in a car and my leg and knee have to go somewhere. If I were short, it wouldn't be a problem and you wouldn't be complaining about my legs/feet. Too bad we aren't all the same.

I hope this never happens to you but one day another cart might come too close to yours and clip your knee. Then it's all over. You will never walk again. I'd think about that before hanging your knee out of the cart.

Gotta know when to let it hang and when to pull it in. Besides, the knee is bone on bone and needs to be replaced anyways.

Have heard of people losing an arm while letting it hang over car door while driving. That alone would convince me hands and feet stay inside the cart.
