Lots and lots of water, but very little comes into play. Aesthetically pleasing and void of gators, who haven’t discovered it yet. Except for housing construction, extremely quiet.

Drove down to Sha Creek from the 466a area.

Wide open, sure. But I forgot to mention that the rough is EXTREMELY thick----if the ball is even halfway down it's almost impossible to hold the clubface off

So happy the new course is up and running, the high school golf team now has a new home course and will no longer be taking up valuable t times at Glenview : )

So it's over an hour Cart ride, from Sumter Landing?
Par 70? Did I read there's a 225 yard Par 3 ? |

From the Tips, there’s a 180, a 210 and a 220 par 3. One par 5, is 557 Par 4s don’t look interesting, total yardage from the tip is 6468 |

I've been here for 4 years and I've seen exactly one person (me) playing Gold Tees and I've never seen anyone on a Black Tee box. I'm sure it happens, but it's certainly a rarity. If they never built another 6800 yard course, I doubt they'd be much complaining going on. |

I've played it three times and will also agree that it has the best greens and fairways in the villages. my playing partners played from the Gold tees (the tips) and it was definitely a different experience than mine. They were challenged on multiple holes. Also way more interesting than Southern Oaks. Also there were more 20-30 year olds playing the course than any other course in The Villages. They were also playing the Gold Tees.

Nearly all the so called "championship" courses are boring, wide open designs due to the developer tuning over boring drainage area land to route holes around. Can't blame the architect, who has designed more interesting layouts elsewhere. Overpriced and forgettable courses for the masses is what you get.

Excessive flatland void of natural features, lacking trees, and a virtual flood plain….
Not much a designer can do. Course is playable and if you’re not challenged move back a tee. Small weakness is distance from clubhouse after 18th green. |
