I would like to travel through life at my pace, not dictated by yours. to me. it's like the ignorant people in the left lane, dictating the speed of others, who would like to move along at their own pace, not theirs. I do not have to answer your questions about what's my hurry. I could be having an emergency, or responding to someone who is having one, or I would like to just move along quicker than you, what's my hurry is none of your nosey business......... thank you very much

My golf cart cannot exceed 20. I travel at 19+ and other carts are ALWAYS passing me. It is very annoying.

There is no speed limit on the multi-modal paths. But the speed limit on public roads is 19.9 mph for golf carts that are not licensed as LSV's. Of course driving a golf cart at 20 mph with other golf carts blowing past you is really no different than driving in your auto on Buena Vista or Morse at the 35 mph posted speed limit. The majority of other autos are going to blow past you as well.

You may need a 10mm wrench or a "zip tie" to increase your speed ! Plenty of You Tube videos to instruct you ... 20 seems like a very safe speed!

Except you’re willing to violate safety regulations enacted to protect the public because some people exercise bad judgement. Sounds like you might be one of them. Drivers following law should be applauded, not denigrated. And you should leave earlier if you need to speed to get somewhere on time.

It appears the owner of the multi-modal paths has set a speed limit. In the “Golf Cart Rules of The Road and Safety Tips” rule 5 states “Speed not to exceed 20mph”. - districtgov.org
Surprisedly, your need for speedmight not help you in court if you cause an accident. As the Golf Cart Rules suggests, “Slow Down and Enjoy The Ride!”

You are correct. 20 MPH is the maximum LEGAL speed allowed for golf carts in The Villages. That being said, there are far more carts that can exceed that speed than you can imagine. I get passed all the time by carts on the street and MMPs. There used to be that Sheriffs would have speed traps for carts and it was expensive get a ticket for speeding. Around $800.00. Some carts have License plates and can go up to 25 MPH, but there are special requirements for them to be registered, including windshield wipers.

If drivers of carts just use common sense there should be no issues. Why would anyone want MORE rules and regulations imposed. That is the allure of Florida. Common sense not oppression. TV is popular because of the life style. Don’t try to regulate it more then it is. Don’t NY The Villages!

Just a friendly FYI that have governors set over 20 MPH. The RPM on the Yamaha motor are not designed to go much faster than 20 MPH. Anything over 22 MPH the RPM’s are to fast and you risk damaging the motor.
