Default Calling cards

Anyone know the website where you can get free calling cards made up? We settled on our home in Sanibel two weeks ago and people are giving us their cards with their home and phone information.

Vistaprint.com. Don't forget your e-mail address. Snowbirds put your other address on the back.

Ok, first I am not familiar with these calling cards so I am unaware of all of the content. For example, does it mention the Villages, or does the back indicate "snow bird" information? Should any of these calling cards become misplaced or stolen, do you really want someone you don't know to have your home addresses and phone numbers? Especially if there is any indication that you might not be at one of those addresses at any given time? Just my two cents.....

Did y'all have calling "resident" calling cards back home?

I find it much more convenient for you to tell me who you are and if I want more info I will ask and enter it in my iphone.

I hate being the middle man between the card giver and the waste basket!

If you have a computer and a decent printer, you can buy the card stock at many places to make your own cards. Using your word processor (ie. Word, Pages, etc.) you can use a little imagination to make your cards unique. They come out very nice and you can make small changes, when needed.

I made my own cards on my computer. And for safety reasons, They only have my name and telephone number. I did not put my address on them.

I have found calling cards to be very useful and The Villages sent me a calling card holder...not sure why but they did. I like it.

I use the back of the card to write down important info about the person.

I do not randomly hand out the cards...only to the people that I know, trust, and want to keep in touch with.

Vista print.
Not free but will end up costing 5 to 10 dollars depending on options. The "free" have a vista add on the back which I think they remove for about 3 dollars.

I used to print out my own cards. Found that vistaprint was actually cheaper when you factor in the special card-weight paper, the ink, etc. Being the cheap witch that I am, I wait until the cards are free but for shipping -- makes my cost less than $5.00 for 250.

When I first moved here, I was under the impression that calling cards (regardless of what they were called by whom) were old-fashioned at best and pretentious at worst. When people started giving them to me, I was truly taken aback. Now, I appreciate the cards and wish this practice was nationwide. Sometimes I'll even make notes on the back on what I can remember from conversations. I keep the cards in old VistaPrint boxes used for my cards in alphabetical order, with neighbors and true friends in a separate area. I'm on my third box.

I do agree that having your "other" address is probably not a good idea and definitely unnecessary. At the very least, have your village, home and cell phone number on the card. This helps a lot in knowing whom to call for what.

I used staples.com for my personal business cards. Much more variety than vistaprint. Really pleased with the quality.

vistaprint.com is an inexpensive place to get your cards. You can design them yourself from their templates. Be careful which e-mail you give them because they will inundate you w/ offers galore. They will retain your design for reorders as well.

When I was last in TV, I got a couple of business cards that also included their TOTV user name. I loved it. I spent the entire night trying to match their name and face to their TOTV name!
