For those who don't play golf, this golf set retails for about 9K and the owner was nowhere in site and the kart was parked in the rear, away from pedestrian traffic. As far as I could tell, the set appeared authentic and not a cheap China copy. Additionally, the key was left in the ignition of the cart.

Just wondering why that some people when they move to The Villages, just completely forget about common sense and truly believe they live in a bubble and that dishonesty and crime don't occur inside the bubble. Or maybe I'm just very naïve and didn't realize that some people are super wealthy and just don't care. Either way, that golfer lost his mind.
when I moved here in 2005 it was like that. we always left keys in cart along with golf clubs and anything else. Not anymore since we have gotten so big. Lot of bad people here now.

Welcome to the real world. Were you to go after him and beat the xxxx out of him, you would be in trouble. He would be out of jail before you would.

Amazing. I’m wondering what a set of clubs would cost for someone playing on pro tour if they had to pay for them??

Some.
And there getting paid to play them while the novice thinks they can do the same with expensive whatever.

No, in my world I would of just called the law enforcement and at least report it aNd the description of the individual.

I wouldn’t leave my keys in anything even visiting graveyard? Never know where someone will pop out from behind tree and steal you’re stuff.

Not really, you get feel and touch for equipment you’re playing with. Up to standard cost has nothing to do with it other than profit.

Probably true but it just takes ONE bad apple to steal a car, cart, clubs or whatever. While you may not read about it in "The Happy News" sh1t does sometimes happen even here in the "happiest place on earth." Sumter county is NOT JUST The Villages and it's easy to import some bad guys from outside the bubble but inside the county. One would have to be quite naive or living in a cocoon to think nothing bad ever happens here....like stealing golf clubs or dumping a body out of a golf cart into the bushes.

And what are you breaking when you’re not? Do you contribute that to putter too? Practice IMO is the best way to strokes on average off rounds.

Personally, I feel that there is plenty of crime in TV Land. We had our home broken into 5 years ago and $5000 in equipment stolen, never recovered by Police. Many criminal eyes are on Villager's homes when they are away. The criminals get info about people that are away from their friends that drive trucks around and act as laborers. Always lock your doors! And install cameras as much as possible. What do you expect? TV Land is an island of super have's surrounded by seas of super have nots - AKA wealth disparity.
