Default Generous Couple

I want to thank this site--and the people of The Villages! I want to share my story. Today-I worked all day and headed home to grab the husband who works night shift and sleeps during the day. We then headed to a home nearby to purchase a desk posted here on this site, for 150.00.

When we arrived we were greated by two lovely people who had just arrived fulltime to The Villages. The husband (sorry forgot his name) proceeded to show me the desk had been damaged (a slight bit inside of the piece that holds the drawer) and he would be giving us the desk and not selling. I was so shocked. I can't tell you how much that pleased me--then he said--if you want a office chair then I will throw that in as well. I did offer payment- but they politely declined!! He then rode with my husband to our home and unload the desk so I didn't have to pick it up!!

Goes to show you that there are great folks here in The Villages. Got the desk home- fits perfect, all drawers work fine. You can't even see a spot of damage on the desk. What a wonderful way to end a busy day at work!

It's so nice to read a post about generosity, and about people being helpful and grateful. Thanks for sharing your heartwarming story.

I'm all aglow. Gotta love that there are so many thoroughly decent people around. In this case it isn't just the desk giver, but the hardworking grateful recipients that make this world a much better place.
