Help..does anyone have any recommendations on how to get rid of gopher or moles ? We have several mounds on our lawn that have appeared in the last several days. Anyone you would recommend ?

I don’t live in TV. I live in a cul-de-sac here in WA. We had a mole issue in the neighborhood affecting 5 homes, mine being at the end of the mole rampage. The neighbors used every thing available from Lowes or Home Depot, nothing worked. I called a professional mole service, yep they only do moles, and they were able to catch 5 over a 2-month period. It wasn’t cheap, $250/month, but it got the job done. I guess I took care of the problem for the entire cul-de-sac. Would have been nice if others offered to chip-in, but they didn’t. Anyway, mole problem solved – for now.

You may find a professional is the most effective means to eliminate the moles. Also, keeping your grass healthy helps too.

Just had mole/moles in our front yard - did a job and now have dead trails of grass etc. Heron - our fert folks - came out and treated for grubs, but too late. They had a mole killer service for $200 - but the guy said we could do it ourselves. best product is at Home Depot - was $18 for a box of 10 worms (gummy-like) They have a poison that kills them when ingested. Hint = cut each into 3rds to bait the tunnels more - and USE gloves, like rubber ones, so human scent isn't an issue. There is some info on Google re this and good uTubes. Tomcat Mole Killer.

Mole(s) gone from here but the lawn needs a lot of work/time to rebound

It may be a Gopher Tortoise. They are endangered, and strictly controlled.

We had moles in our yard and we were told to put coffee ground in the tunnels. It took about 3 or 4 days of looking for new holes and filling them with coffee grounds but it worked very well. No more moles.

In a past life I worked for a pesticide wholesaler and the worm like baits were the best seller to the homeowners and Pest control companies. Unless you kill the mole you are just transferring the problem to your neighbors and they will eventually return looking for more grubs. As the person said , cut them into thirds and place them in the mole trails. I would leave a airhole in the trail and the mole will come back to repair it and find the bait.

I have no idea what damage moles can do. However coffee grounds sound like a more humane alternative??

I must say - as an animal lover, etc - when a rodent does all that damage to your lawn..."humane" is not in the solution.

They do have traps and other methods that 'terminate' - also coffee grounds, moth balls, peppermint sticks, castor oil - and lots of other home remedies that may not kill but deter, that according to google...do not really work.

And I really didn't want it/them to just move to a neighbors yard either to do more damage, so took the MOLE KILLER route, and seemed to work. Yep, call me a rodent killer if you'd like. If I had mice or rats in the garage --- no coffee or tea for them either - byebye. I won't make nice to them.
