Why assume these criminals are grandchildren of residents or in any way connected to TV? Could be true, but it's just as possible that it's non-residents. You're no doubt aware that these are public streets.
To automatically place blame on visiting relatives is just unfair.

Bones, the thread is entitled "Graffiti on Bridge". The implication I got was that the unsupervised grandchildren were possibly involved in the subject of this thread.

I love the grandchildren visiting but I'm not so fond of the older teens who are hotrodding in grandpa's golf cart, half drunk (the squares really should supervise who's buying and drinking those happy hour drinks). One of these darling kids punched a hole in the back of the ragtop of my Miata during the Thanksgiving break last year. I have a pretty good idea who did it but no proof. Sadly, those kids are now back for the next 6 weeks. Can't wait to see what they do this trip.

As to the graffiti on the bridge, yes, it's a shame -- happens all the time. Fortunately, it is painted over very quickly by TV. Not sure if it's grandkids or locals (probably a little of both) but it is certainly not the prettiest site.

And, Tal, I'm so glad I wasn't drinking when I read your response -- I would have spewed my Coke all over my screen. Grace is going to hate Bob when she gets older and see these commercials.

And, BTW, taggers are very rarely female.

Default Not only the bridge

I also noticed on the GC path going down to Colony. I sure hope it doesn't continue. I do agree it's something that everyone has to keep an eye open for and report the people if you see them!!

I wonder if this is the same person or that the Villages is so quick to paint of this work that you have to be in the wrong place at the wrong time to actually see some of it?

Default There are some wall artists whose work is amazing.

They are probably paid a lot to do it and have the permission of the property's owners before they even start. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/worl...il-artist.html

Yup, some graffiti artists are truly phenomenal and I actually enjoy seeing their work. However, the stuff that I've seen in TV is almost grade schoolish and truly pathetic work. It deserves to be painted over and the brats doing it should be spray painted and made to wear signs admitting their lack of artistry.

Cool Amazing

Remember seeing some of Julian Beever's work awhile back. He works with chalk on the sidewalk, all over the world. Here's some links.

Too bad that the Villages does not have street artists in this league. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Julian_Beever

Sadly, there are those whose only exposure to culture is when they eat Yogurt.

Last month I was dismayed to see some graffitti at Paradise Park on the wall next to the highway. It was celebrating the "class of 2010". And, was signed by someone with a girl's name. The really shameful part is that they also spray painted some of the trunks of those beautiful, huge trees. The Villages staff painted it out the next day, thankfully.
