Default Flag Pole Disappointment

My friend purchased and had installed a flagpole from the "Flag and Flagpole" store on 441 South of the Villages. Within 3 weeks one of the push buttons popped off the pole and the light stopped working.

We took the defective pole section back to the store and was told by the owner that he would give us a replacement part but if we wanted him to install it, he was charging us $20.00, and as far as the $100.00 light that stopped working within 2 weeks if we wanted a replacement we need to call the Manufacturer in PA.

I took the replacement part and installed it myself for my friend it took at the most 2 minutes and we are calling the Manufacturer about the light.

If anyone is considering a Flagpole based on my experience you might as well buy it online or at the Market of Marion and pay someone to install it, because you get absolutely no customer service from this business. I told the owner I would post my experience on this forum and he said he did not care if he supplied customer service for free he would not make any money.

I would suggest you contact Seniors vs Crime at either the Mulberry Sheriff's substation or at the Sumter County substation on Morse & 466.

They would be helpful in setting up a file on this business for your complaint and would be of use to other Villagers who call Seniors vs Crime for information on a business before hiring them.

The Marion County Senior vs Crime is open Tuesday and Thursday 10-2 and Sumter County Senior vs Crime is open Tues, Wed, and Thurs from 10-2.

I believe you probably signed a contract that states what you can expect if something goes wrong with your flagpole. I'm not saying that they shouldn't back up their product just that they CTA when they sell something.

Default Flag pole disappointment service help

Our company is happy to help xxxxx with her service to the flagpole she bought from us at flags & flag poles.
Flags & flag poles backs up the manufactures warranty program as offered in our store. The warranty covers all parts for "free" and this customer was given the "free" part as offered from the manufacture warranty. The warranty does not cover any service / labor fees as stated in the store and customer "signed" contract at time of purchase. The solar light is also covered by the manufacture and if authorized by the manufacture we will exchange the product for a new one in our store.
At any point anyone needs service help with products bought in our store we are happy to help them as much as we can monday - friday 8 am - 4 pm. All warranties are clearly stated and explained at time of purchase. We also offer many products made in the usa ! If anybody wants to know more please contact us.
We are up front with all our sales and prices.

In the time I've been on this forum too many jump to "Seniors vs Crime at either the Mulberry Sheriff's substation or at the Sumter County substation"

First there was never any crime, this was at most a dispute, if the seller as stated above had the terms and conditions stated on the contract of sale or posted in the store it would then be the fault of the buyer for miss understanding.

Moreover, for a biz to charge in that event only $20..............come on guys that's cheap.

Before crying wolf wait for the other side of the story before disparaging a biz.

Regardless of what side of this dispute you come down on, this is yet another example of why small businesses suffer an early demise or struggle with profitability. The $20 labor charge will end up costing $2000 in lost good will.

Service Above and Beyond by brick and mortar retailers is their only hope in their war with Cyber Stores.

Steve based on his response I don't think he will or should lose any good will or future sales based on what was represented here.

Exactly. I would not buy from a store that does not back up the product they sell. Deferring to the manufacturer is not the way to get return customers. Therefore, I will buy my flagpole from Walmart or over the internet.

Default Planning to Buy and Install a Flag Pole?

This thread appears to be regarding flag poles, warranties therefore, and the like. I have, as well as others, posted kudos to Terry at Markets of Marion and recommended him. I have an update to that, and hereby withdraw my recommendation. I have had problems with mine for several months. It, of it's own volition, comes down periodically. I went out to talk to Terry, as it is under warranty. He recommended that I contact the manufacturer and they would send a box to return it. I called them and they said that they would send me a kit to repair it. I wasn't too happy about that, but waited, and waited. It's been six weeks of so and nothing, so I returned to Markets of Marion and explained what had taken place. He said that sometimes they did that to him too, period. Not too promising to me. I ordered a replacement flag pole elsewhere and will take this one out of the ground tomorrow. I suppose I'll have to submit another architectural design review form too. Avoid Markets of Marion based on my experience, the warranty seems to be useless and standing behind the product is a thing of bygone days.
