There was a Landowner’s Election held yesterday for District 2’s seat on the Amenity Authority Committee.
The voting was held at the El Santiago Rec Center. There was only 315 votes cast in this election!

With a Landowner’s Election, the is only one vote per household (rooftop). In District 2 there are 3668 rooftops. The voting rate was not even 10%! The winner only had 159 votes.

Based on an average monthly Amenity Fee of $169 District 2 is contributing nearly $7.4 million dollars annually to the AAC. 159 people have decided how our $7.4 million is going to be spent.

The next time you get ready to criticize the AAC on one of their decisions or actions, ask yourself, “did I vote for these people”?
