Except for the Sono sound bar with Tom Petty of course, the lavender scented bubbles, and Napa cab not too bad.

Just built a 3 bath house, all showers, no tub. Since 2010 in TV haven’t ever used a bathtub. Have looked at plenty of resales, not one time did I find concern of no tub. But several that had walk-in tubs, wanted to know the cost to remove

I would ask a realtor that question, but in my opinion I wold think a walk in shower without a tube. We are old folks here and shower are the way to go; still ask a realtor.

GCM.
Outside The Villages I might agree. But resale around here is for 55+ for the most part and that age group, usually have a hard time with a regular tub.

Default You can store water without a tub

You can store water without a tub. We just converted our tub to a walk-in shower and love it. For storing water we will simply buy some of those 5 gallon jugs of water at the grocery store and put them in a closet or in the garage somewhere. That gives us plenty of clean drinking water, or for any purpose.

Also, we just changed out our divided kitchen sink for a single basin. It’s so much easier to wash the larger items that don’t fit in the dishwasher. And it occurred to me that if someone visits that has an infant, it would be very simple to bathe the child in that single basin in the kitchen, or insert a baby bathtub there.

But those "few reasons" are exactly why the OP posted this thread - to help them decide on which of the two options. Your "few reasons" could be very helpful here.

For those that had the tub taken out and shower put in, who did you use and are you happy with them.

LA Flooring on 301 in Wildwood. They had excellent tile choices and installers. Completely happy the tub is gone. Bathroom looks larger and brighter. We never once used the tub. When we had guests, I was not comfortable with them having to step over a tub to shower.

If you are thinking about resale, then a tub and a shower would be the way to go.

Default Tub or walk-in shower

What about a walk-in tub. You get both tub and shower features without climbing into a tub.
