Had some neighbors buy into this scam years ago. It clearly was remnants from either meat packers or butcher shops after the meat had been trimmed for sale.
Needless to say, it was not worth even the low price that was paid for it….not to mention the lack of safety in the process.
Stay away from this garbage..

Not to repeat a post (I am)...chances are anybody that has dined on a number of fast food franchise' 'meat' offerings in the past...has probably had a taste of the 8th place finisher at Pimlico!

This “meat deal” routine is nothing new. Been around for decades. I heard about it back home in Ohio, too.

They cruise around looking for gullible types who will listen to their spiel and think they are getting in on a fantastic opportunity. Of course, the sales pitch always includes a sense of urgency, just like all high pressure pitches.

Not only is the source of said meat highly questionable, but also who really believes that food safety is practiced by these operators.

Please do not even think about buying this stuff. Do not even talk to them.

OP, thanks for starting the thread though. There could be some who are not aware and should look out.

What do those people think....that TV sanctions door to door or Mr. Ed to door/curb vendors? It’s a common sense issue. Being gullible cannot be corrected by ordinance or legislation!

Ahhh, your post is a clear example of the dichotomy between the two primary ideological philosophies existing in our country: Those that believe things are common sense and one should be educated and aware, versus those that believe government can regulate us to safety and an idyllic existence.

I'm not knocking either, nor condoning them. I know toward which end of the spectrum I lean. I'm just pointing out the basic outlooks that fuel so much of our individual belief systems and this just speaks to that core basic divergence from an unexpected angle.

I have to admit, had a guy come, named some neighbors who bought. Of course they have their names on the lamppost, realized later it was bull****. But I got the filets for $3 apiece & they were actually great! I would not buy a whole box but thought I would gamble for a few $&&

Yep ! Been here a long time now and this has been going on for all those years, kind of moves from area to area, the "story line" usually has some minor changes. One of the most common has always been an accident to a refrigerated truck "out on the toll road" and they got "authorization" from the wholesale customer (presumably Publix, Winn-D, etc. but never mentioned by name) to "do an emergency dissolution", LOL, meaning "fire sale" of possibly UN-inspected (?), possibly most anything, including meat intended for a variety of "other" uses. They show up in the S.S. area of the Villages, move to LSL area, etc. sometimes a year or more between "visits".

We HAVE (if we have the extra time) done exactly that. When they said they JUST finished at my neighbor's place, and have this ------ left, etc. etc. I walked further out toward the street and said, "which neighbor ?" When they could not bring up the name, I'd point to a house and say "there ? At the Johnson's ? A name I made up) and then they would quickly say "well ACTUALLY a neighbor 2 blocks down...." as they nearly RAN to their truck (of course). Always good to snap a photo of license plate... while house to house solicitation may be "discouraged" by the villages (does the Villages really do anything to "discourage" it ????) at least if anything more serious happens you have information that could help the police ! When there is a series of break-ins, it would at least provide leads of who has been going around the neighborhood recently ostensibly for some other purpose; like selling "steaks", or roofs, or wanted to cut down trees.
