Default HomeFront Smoke Alarms

Has anyone had any experience with HomeFront Smoke Alarms or Coastal Health and Safety?

Are these the smoke detectors that are supposed to pick up smoldering fires and cost around $250 each?

You can do the same thing by buying smoke detectors at Home Depot or Lowes at around $45 each.

Default Homefront smoke detectors

Thanks. My internet research had me thinking the same thing. The only difference would be the installation but I think that would be pretty simple to do.
