Agree with single pain windows and would be beneficial to replace them. My home was built in 2002 has double pain windows. Maybe previous owners had them replaced? |

My sister had new construction windows replaced in her home. The windows that were removed were secured with hurricane straps which had to be "cut". The new windows do not have hurricane straps. She was told by the company that did the install that they did not know until they started to remove the windows that there were hurricane straps. Some damage to the stucco had to be repaired which was done by the window installer.

Beware, if you live in a CV with vinyl siding. When I replaced the windows in a rental unit in Connecticut with low e glass the reflection melted my neighbor's vinyl siding. If you think I am crazy google it.

You should open your windows and let in fresh air occasionally.
