Default Have home insurance rates come down?

I recently saw on The Villages Newcomers that home insurance rates have come down and will continue to drop. Can anyone recommend an insurance company that has good ratings and attractive premiums?

After a 50% ($700) increase last year our homeowners insurance went down $67 this year. Nothing to get excited about dollar wise but nice not having a huge increase again.
We’re with Progressive.

Last February Progressive was increasing my premium from $3200 to $4600. I had my agent at The Villages Insurance look for a company with a better rate, and found a policy with a comparable and acceptable coverage for $2350. Many new insurers are now writing in Florida, so my recommendation would be to find an Independent agency, as The Villages Insurance, to search out competitive rates from numerous insurers.
