Schools out & lots of people intend to visit their parents for a low cost vacation in TV, tell everyone from out of the area to stay away from TV--it might be the most expensive visit ever--they may not have any symptoms, but they've not been tested & children are not that hygiene savy

A very good and sensible idea, so I can't see that going anywhere!

Perhaps "the management" could suspend/cancel all guest passes? Just sayin'

Do we really need "the management" to decide what we and our families should do to remain safe? News Flash, some residents here in The Villages are pretty sharp mentally, still.

We seniors need to take care of ourselves.
In the first place, don't get near other people. Don't have any other people come into your house. If you touch any surface outside of our house, wash your hands. |

Maybe "the management" should have shut down the restaurants who had people crowded in shoulder to shoulder in the outside seating in LSL today (no idea about inside) and THEN worry about the impossible task of preventing "outsiders" into public areas and private homes. It's TERRIBLE for business but one has to realize what's happening. City Fire (gee, what a surprise), Red Sauce & Gator's were most obviously overcrowded. Yea, it was St Patricks Day but I don't think the Good Saint Paddy would want this. If just ONE person had this virus in those places it would explode all around here. Support your local restaurants but do takeout. Even the Country Clubs being opened today was a big surprise considering the Villages shut down so much other stuff.

I think the idea of temporarily rescinding access to amenities for anyone with a guest pass might be a good idea. There are a lot of people who don't live in the Villages, not even as snowbirds, who come and visit and use the amenities, they come from out of state, some even from out of the country, visiting residents (part and full time, owners and tenants). Now that the squares are closed, and the indoor rec center activities are cancelled, and the theatres and performance centers are closed, what do you think all these visitors would be DOING all day? They'd be using the OTHER amenities, more than usual, crowding the pools, crowding the bocce and horseshoe courts, crowding the golf courses, etc. etc. The whole point of closing this other stuff down is to reduce crowding. So the best thing to do is to just tell everyone hey - I know it's spring break. I get that your grandkids have no school til at least mid-april, if not for the rest of the year. But you gotta tell your kids and grandkids that this is a BAD time to come visit. It's not safe for them, it's not safe for you, it's not safe for anyone else who lives here. |

We can easily observe that many people here at the Villages do what they darn well please without consideration for others too. That is why rules need to be implemented and enforced.

If you want to live under a “police state”, maybe management should lock all the gates and not allow anyone in or out??
Sounds like a caged snow bird to me. If they lock the “red button” imagine the line at the gates while management asks where the visitor is going, who are they visiting, have they had any of the symptoms of the virus, etc, etc. Maybe management should ask the residents the same question as they enter TV from who knows where. How would that work for everyone? |
