I always recommend using an ATM once you get to a country.

I was there in 2000. The exchange rate was unbelievable.

For $1, you could get 620,000 Turkish lira. I got $50 from an ATM. It was 31,000,000 Turkish lira.

I always told my wife that we’d be millionaires one day!

I like to be able to use money without hunting for a bank when I arrive.

I was just in Istanbul airport last month. I had no problem using my credit card in the shops. ATM machines were also readily available

I don’t think I have ever been to an airport that didn’t have an ATM.

If you are flying into Istanbul, there are at least 15 ATMs at the airport.
