Default Help! I need to buy hiking shoes

I just found out I'm going to Denver over Christmas and all my winter wear is back in Jersey. I think if I buy hiking shoes instead of boots I'll get to use them down here too. Back home I would go to REI. Where can I go around here to at least window shop?

In addition to hiking shoes for your time in Denver here is another site that may save you some time rather than just walking around looking….

HeadShopFinder.com

Shoe Biz up on Rt. 441 and Rolling Acres road, near Best Buy, has quite a few brands of good quality hiking shoes and boots. I was looking for some recently and they had Merrils and Keene, but not my size, and ended up driving to Tampa - Tampa Bay Outfitters. There is an REI store up in Jacksonville.

Thank-you for everyone's advice.

I think Shoe Biz has the quality that I am looking for and I spent a bit of time searching online for a better price. On monday Rockports had a 40% off that I missed. I was looking at Clark shoes too. I think they were called Wave. It was a waterproof slip on. Someone said in a review that because it's water proof they will hot in warm weather.

I think Denver is called The Mile High City.

You may need some warmer clothes to go with your hiking shoes. Looks like Denver's Christmas will be 20 degrees overnight with a high of 42.

I'm flying into Denver but we are staying in Boulder. The weather looks about the same but it will be sunny.
